MY BOYS
When I asked the boys to lay down head to head, Noah said "oh I know how to do this, it's like that other picture!" since I have the one from 2011 hung up at our Bouse House. I click my shutter once and then Ben was up and gone. I am so happy that it turned out so cute! You just never know with kids!

Knot Hole Series and the Rust Series
Went on a photo shoot with a cousin who also loves photography while we were visiting in Bouse. It was fun to see what he liked to capture since his interest was more on textured things. I wanted to develop my eye to see things a little different so here is a few images I captured that are different than I usually shoot. Also look for my - Series of Lines.

JARS OF NUTS
I love playing around with textures. In this picture I put together two different images that I had taken. I know the focus point isn't right but I still like it. To each it's own I guess. :)

SIMPLICITY
Letting go can be hard. You spend the first half of your life gathering things, then the second half you question why you have all this stuff. The meaning of life changes. I have been enjoying our simply life at our "Cabin in the Desert" this winter which has been inspiring me to clean out my closets at the house in the city.

BROKEN FENCE
This image was taken in the back country of northern Nevada. Some of these old homesteads have wonderful photography opportunities. Today I am linking up the "Good Fences" blog. This fence has seen better days.
I was also practicing using textures and some additional processing in PhotoShop.

Lighthouse Reflection
Today I am linking up with a blog called Weekend Reflections. This image was taken in Maine at the Pemaquid Point Light House. This is a historic U.S. lighthouse located in Bristol, Lincoln County, Maine, at the tip of the Pemaquid Neck. Historic 1827-lighthouse features panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The tower and Keeper's House were constructed in 1827. But neither lasted long, perhaps because the builder used salt water to mix his lime mortar. The second contract stipulated that only fresh water be used. The new tower, built by stone mason Joseph Berry from Georgetown, was completed in 1835. A new wood frame Keeper's House was added in 1857. At about the same time, the tower was upgraded with new technology: the Fresnel lamp. The beacon that shines today is that same, fourth-order lamp which can be seen 14 nautical miles out to sea.
The beacon was lit, at first, by whale oil, and later, by kerosene. A small brick building bordering the rocks was used to store fuel. The other brick building nearby was the bell house. The keepers, at the first sight of fog, would operate the bell by hand. Later, a mechanical system using weights was added.

FROM THE PAST
Today I thought I would share some images taken in Northern Nevada during one of my vacations. This is an old homestead out in the middle of no where. At one time, there was a nice big Apple Orchard. Not far from this homestead is a herd of "wild horses" that I was lucky enough to run into. Since I did not want to scare them, I took all the pictures from inside the truck.
This homestead had a chicken coup, a hay direk and an old cellar.
Beautiful Wild Horses.

Our World - Japanese Friendship Garden - Phoenix Arizona
This week I am linking up with a blog called "Our World Tuesday" where bloggers share images about their world and tell us a little story about the place.
Today I am sharing about the Japanese Friendship Garden:
Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, named Ro Ho En is an authentic 3.5 acre Japanese Stroll Garden with tea garden and tea house. This tranquil and beautiful setting features more than 1,500 tons of hand-picked rock, stone footbridges, lanterns and more than 50 varieties of plants. As you stroll the path, you will enjoy flowing streams, a 12-foot waterfall, and a Koi pond with over 300 colorful Koi fish.

Mosaic Monday - Special Rocks
This year I thought I would link up with Mosaic Monday on Lavender Cottage's Blog. This mosaic is capturing the little moments that made me smile that day. He loves rocks! And of course what little kid doesn't like to walk around wearing adult shoes.
